Good goalkeeping and poor shooting cost Thistle the win. They had by far the better chances in the first half although Forfar almost snatched the lead with a header. Gibson was sent off (2nd yellow, disputed dive/pen, 54) and Forfar applied more pressure. Chances at both ends late on came to nothing.

Forfar drew 0-0 at home to Partick for their third consecutive stalemate as they collected another valuable point in their battle against relegation. The draw will have been harder to accept for promotion-chasing Thistle, who dominated the first half but had nothing to show for their efforts. James Gibson was sent off in the 54th minute for his second bookable offence. Partick's Adam Strachan missed a great opportunity to win the match when he shot wide in front of an open goal.
