AET. Lost 3-4 on pens. First Division Saints were the better team but it was Roberts who scored from 25 yards (61). A soft pen made it 1-1 (63) and it was 1-2 (79) but Santala nodded in (90). McConalogue turned and scored a fine goal (103), Saints equalised (108), Kilgannon made it 4-3 (117, pen), Saints scored (119).

David Hannah scored the decisive spot-kick as St Johnstone claimed a thrilling Bell's Cup win on penalties. Goals from Partick pair Mark Roberts and Jukka Santala were equalised by Peter McDonald and Kevin Rutriewicz at the end of 90 minutes. Extra-time saw more goals - Stephen McConalogue and Sean Kilgannon were the home side's heroes while Stephen Dobbie and Neil Janczyk hit back each time. Janczyk missed from the spot but so did Jags duo Andy Gibson and Mark Smyth.
