It was a poor start with the loss of a goal (2) from a scramble with Arthur looking suspect. A free-kick (25) by Kilgannon levelled then Brady scored (35) from the edge of the box. Gilles hit the post then Hamilton equalised (67). The game deteriorated with numerous fouls but a quality 25-yard strike (90) won it.

TOUGH HAM ORDERED. ACCIES boss Billy Reid insists his side will be ready to dig for victory this season after Brown Ferguson's last-gasp wonder goal snatched the win in an ill-tempered friendly. Reid said:'It was a great goal in the last few minutes but over the piece I thought we deserved to win. It's still pre-season and we've still got a lot to do but when the going gets tough you'll see the real Hamilton. Thistle boss Dick Campbell said: “//Hamilton are a big strong side and we'll come up against that this year so it's a learning experience. I'm disappointed to lose at home but nothing's ever won in pre-season friendlies Accies took the lead after two minutes when Kenny Arthur failed to hold Tom Bennett's header. As the Thistle defence panicked, Mark Gilhaney prodded the ball into the net. Sean Kilgannon levelled after 25 minutes when he curled in a delightful free-kick. Darren Brady put the Second Division side ahead 10 minutes later, slotting home from the edge of the box. Steven Thomson made it 2-2 midway through a second half in which tempers were fraying before Ferguson hit the winner with a 25-yard volley.
