Next to nothing was created in the 90 minutes and the clean sheet, although welcome against 3rd top Saints wasn't enough. Thistle were impotent. “We just didn't create“ (Campbell).

Partick and St Mirren shared the spoils at Firhill, with Saints enjoying first-half supremacy and Thistle having a much improved second 45 minutes. The Buddies were dangerous up front where Allan Russell and Brian McGinty kept the home defence under pressure. Thistle pressed after the break but could not find a way past 'keeper Craig Hinchliffe, who denied Juan Esgalas, Stephen McConologue and Leigh Hinds. The Jags remain four points adrift of eighth-placed Hamilton Accies.
