Thistle dominated possession but had nothing to show for it as Brady, Hinds and Escalas all went close. Arthur had a fine save from a free-kick but the defence went to sleep and it led to the only goal (70). It was one of only 2 Hamilton efforts on goal. Thistle never really looked like pulling a goal back.

Maryhill-born Pat Keogh stepped off the bench to net his first goal for Hamilton Academical as they leapfrogged Partick Thistle into third bottom spot. The defeat ended Thistle's six-game unbeaten run. New signing Steve McConalogue had two good chances to give Thistle a first-half lead but was denied both times by goalkeeper David McEwan. Keogh's winner came in the 70th minute, when he worked a neat move with Marcel Mehouve to net from 10 yards.
