The storm clouds gathered. Thistle started off well but found themselves 2-down thanks to shocking defending (13 and 32). Escalas almost scored early in the 2nd half but St Johnstone won effortlessly adding another two goals (73 and 82) to inflict more damage. 2 wins in the last 13 and only 12 goals scored.

St Johnstone built on last week's fine victory over Clyde to leave Partick Thistle facing a relegation battle. The visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Peter MacDonald produced a fine through ball for Ryan McCann to beat goalkeeper Kenny Arthur. Saints doubled their lead when defender Steven Anderson met a MacDonald knock-down and lifted the ball over Arthur. MacDonald nodded in a third with 17 minutes left and substitute Chris Hay completed the scoring late on.
