THISTLE'S RECORD 18. FORMER QPR player Richard Pacquette joined in a goal glut as Partick Thistle hit an amazing record 18 goals against a British Army side on their pre-season tour in Cyprus. And that has boosted the hopes of Pacquette, who is on trial. Boss Gerry Britton said: “Pacquette scored seven and will play again against Paphos on Tuesday.”

Relegated Partick Thistle destroyed a British Army Select 18-0 in the second game of their Cyprus tour. Richard Pacquette, Matthew Shields and John Gemmell hit hat-tricks. Boss Gerry Britton scored a double and trialist Nigel Jemson, Willie Howie, Andy Ross, Kenny Milne and Manny Panther completed the rout. The Army scored two own goals.
