A towsy first half saw Livingston take the lead (31) but Mitchell equalised soon after when he knocked in a deep corner headed back across goal. The second half wasn't pretty either. Burns was hauled down an Mitchell scored from the spot (64) but Livingston scored (75) and might have stolen another (90).

THISTLE HOLD LIVINGSTON. Partick Thistle continued their unbeaten start to life in the SPL after an entertaining draw with Livingston at Firhill. The Jags completed their third consecutive draw thanks to a brace from midfielder Jamie Mitchell, one of which came from the penalty spot. Livingston were worthy of at least a point and a double from Oscar Rubio ensured justice was done. The game could have gone either way, with a host of chances at both ends in a high tempo match. Thistle were forced to change goalkeepers, with injury to Kevin Budinauckas meaning a place for Kenny Arthur.

Partick started the game well and were threatening the Livingston goal within a minute of the game kicking off. Alan Archibald went on a run down the left before flighting a cross into the path of Britton in front of goal but his header from eight yards was held by Javier Sanchez-Broto. Thistle went close after 10 minutes when Britton nodded a Jamie Buchan free kick into the path of Mitchell but his header was just inches over the crossbar. Livingston were denied a goal after 25 minutes when Stephen Craigan managed to clear a David Bingham lob off the goal line. The West Lothian side's increasing pressure paid off on the half-hour mark when they opened the scoring. Philippe Brinquin flighted a long free-kick into the area which was met by Rubio just a few yards out and he bulleted home the header. Livingston's joy was short-lived when Partick levelled the scoreline just three minutes later. An Alex Burns corner was met by Britton who nodded the ball into the path of Mitchell at the far post and he directed a header past Broto. Livingston had the chance to reclaim their lead just before the half-time whistle when Wilson tried to set up Lovell but the Australian thundered the shot just wide of the upright.

Livingston were the stronger team at the start of the second half but it was Thistle who netted again when referee David Somers handed the home side a 64th minute penalty after Burns was felled in the box by Rubio. Mitchell stepped up for the set-piece and left Broto with no chance when he blasted the ball high into the net. Livingston had the chance to draw level from a free kick after 73 minutes when Camacho picked out substitute Dadi who blasted the ball across the face of goal. Rolando Zarate pounced on the rebound and looked certain to net but his effort cannoned off Craigan on the line. But just two minutes later, Livvy found the second goal that hauled them back into the game. Brinquin picked out Rubio at the far post and he just managed to squeeze home the header to claim his second goal of the day after 75 minutes. In an audacious attempt to take the three points for Partick, Burns tried to beat Broto with a shot from the halfway line but the effort fell wide of the post two minutes from time.
