4th top Arbroath deserved their 2-goal lead (23 and 40). Thistle were poor and lacked any cohesion. Arthur had some fine saves then Arbroath had a goal disallowed (60). Thistle finally woke up and McLean prodded in a low Roddie cross (60). Arbroath had a man sent off (68) then Hardie headed in (81) for a shaky point.

Only a late fightback prevented Arbroath claiming a double victory over title-chasing Partick Thistle. But the draw extends Thistle's lead in Division One to seven points. But goals from Innes Ritchie and John Cusick put Arbroath on their way to repeating their victory of the previous weekend. But Scott McLean and Martin Hardie gave Thistle a vital point. The visitors dominated the early stages and raced into a two-goal lead when Ritchie struck after 23 minutes and then Cusick fired home five minutes before half-time. But Thistle continued to battle in search of a goal and they got back into the game with a fine McLean effort on the hour mark. Arbroath's Steve Florence was sent off for his second yellow card eight minutes later and the Jags took control. They piled forward in the closing stages and gained their reward when Hardie thundered home an equaliser nine minutes from time.
