Archibald took a 40-yard pass and McLean scored from his cross (12). Lennon got the 2nd (26) then McLean back-heeled a Constantine cross (39) for 3-0 at half-time. McCulloch hit the post, before Hardie smashed home a poor clearance (48). Falkirk (4th bottom) scored late on but it was a clinical win.

A first-half double from Scott McLean helped First Division leaders Partick Thistle ease to a comfortable win over Falkirk. Danny Lennon and Martin Hardie were also on target for the Jags who produced a wonderful display. Ian Morris's late strike was scant consolation for the Bairns, who were second best all afternoon. Partick opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Alan Archibald's cross was fumbled by Falkirk keeper Myles Hogarth, allowing McLean to tap the ball into the net. And Thistle doubled their advantage 14 minutes later when McLean raced forward to cut the ball back from a tight angle to Lennon, who side-footed the ball into an unguarded goal. The Glasgow side settled the contest six minutes before the interval after on-loan Millwall star Leon Constantine produced a perfect ball into the box to allow McLean to grab his second with a neat flick. Just three minutes after the restart the Jags grabbed a fourth goal after a terrible mistake by defender Lee Wilkie presented Hardy with a simple finish. The home side finally made a belated breakthrough 12 minutes from time when Morris looped a header over Partick keeper Kenny Arthur.
