AET. Kirkcaldy again. Novo was again the danger. Thistle fell behind (13), McDowell equalised (35) then Novo scored just on half-time. McCallum headed home a long throw-in to level (74). 2 magnificent strikes from Fleming (100 and 105, 30-yarder and a free-kick) then Hardie (tap-in, 114) made it 5 then Raith scored (120).

Two stunning strikes from Derek Fleming helped Partick Thistle turn on the style and progress to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup. The visitors put their injury woes behind them to record their second win at Stark's Park in four days in a thrilling tie that was decided after extra time. And striker Murray McDowall capped his debut with a goal after his move from Cowdenbeath. The hosts had been the better side over the 90 minutes. But Thistle's late equaliser knocked the stuffing out of them and there was only going to be one winner after the additional 30 minutes. Rovers had taken the lead after 13 minutes through former Morton man Ross Matheson. But Thistle equalised after 35 minutes through McDowell. Nacho Novo put the home side ahead again in first-half injury-time. But substitute David McCallum's 74th-minute strike forced extra time. Fleming gave Partick the lead with a spectacular 25-yard drive. Then, five minutes later, the former Dunfermline Athletic and Livingston full-back added his second with a free-kick from the same distance. Martin Hardie's goal six minutes from the end was icing on the cake. Jorge Zoco's consolation for Raith in the dying seconds was too little, too late.
