Budinauckas was sent off for a hand ball outside his box (25). Docherty went into goal. The expected onslaught never appeared however and Lyle (looking offside) poked in a Lindau pass (45). McLean doubled the lead via a post (51). Albion hit the bar and had several corners but the 10 men held out for all 3 points.

THISTLE DO FOR ME SAYS SWEDE STAR. SWEDISH striker Peter Lindau inspired 10-man Thistle to victory - then announced he wants to be a Jag for the rest of the season. The Ayr hitman, who's on loan for another month, set up both goals as the visitors fought superbly after keeper Kevin Budinauckas's 25th-minute dismissal for handling outside his box. Lindau said: “It would be best for me to stay at Thistle as I am playing very well and there's a great team spirit. I have a great understanding with the other players and we are on a brilliant run.” Thistle took the lead just before half-time when full- back Alan Archibald's cross from the left was nodded on by Lindau for Derek Lyle - who looked offside - to tap in. Scott McLean doubled the lead when his Swedish team- mate set him up for a scorching strike in the 51st minute and the visitors never looked in any real danger after that. Jags boss John Lambie said: “I thought our battling qualities were magnificent. Peter Lindau was outstanding up front and everyone rallied brilliantly after Bud was sent off.” Albion manager John Philliben said: “It was a poor performance - we were outfought and outplayed.”
