Lindau hit the post (47), Paton headed in at the back post (72), Craig hit the post then a volley by Lyle (82) made it 2-2. Craig had a shot blocked by the keeper in the dying mins. I WISH I WAS LIN THE MONEY! THISTLE boss John Lambie admits he'd fork out a fortune to keep man of the match Peter Lindau. Trouble is, he hasn't got the money. On-loan Swede Lindau and cult hero Quinton Jacobs inspired the Jags to their best football of the season so far in a second-half performance that put the stoppers on their Firhill lodgers.

Accies had grabbed a two-goal lead in the first 45 courtesy of Darren Henderson and Martin Bonnar and looked certain to rack up their first win since October. But then Lindau and Namibian ace Jacobs took the game by the scruff of the neck and goals by Eric Paton and Derek Lyle bagged the Jags a point. Lambie said: “Peter was magnificent again but we can't afford to bring him here permanently. He's still got a year of his contract to run at Ayr and he'll be on good wages in the First Division which makes it even harder for us to tempt him here. He's keen to join us but the best we can do is speak to Gordon Dalziel and try to get his loan extended.”

Accies boss Ally Dawson said: “We can take a lot out of our first-half performance but we've got to remember games last 90 minutes.” Accies grabbed the opener on 21 minutes when comeback man Ian McAulay flighted over a corner and Eddie Cunnington's shot through was deflected in by Henderson. Bonnar hit No.2 five minutes later, superbly volleying home a McAulay cross from 20 yards.

Thistle pulled one back after 72 minutes when Lindau's cross from the right was poked home at the back post by Paton. And with eight minutes left Jacobs swung the ball over and Lyle volleyed it home sweetly.
