FORMER Hibs defender Gordon Hunter was only on the park for the first 12 minutes ,but he made all the difference as new Hamilton boss Ally Dawson got off to a winning start. Hunter was on target in three minutes when he ran in to meet a Eddie Cunnington cross and head home from eight yards. Hunter had been injured and replaced by the time Thistle carved out their first chance when Scott Miller shot wide from a good position. The Jags had plenty of possession but apart from a Stephen Docherty header that went over, offered very little and were booed off the pitch.
