Partick Thistle began the day in second place, but are now top on goal difference after player-manager Tommy Bryce led the way. He opened in the 27th minute against Arbroath at Firhill. The Angus club are propping up the division, and their position was confirmed when Alan Morgan netted a penalty two minutes into the second half. To complete their miserable day, Steven Florence was ordered off.
