A poor first half but things improved marginally after half-time. Thistle went ahead through Craig (50) when the keeper pushed out a Gibson cross. He was injured in the process and an outfield player took over in goal. He was never under any pressure. A soft pen (56) earned Falkirk (with Lambie in charge) a point.

FORMER Thistle manager John Lambie received a rapturous welcome for his first return to Firhill since leaving in the summer. Of course, the applause was from the Falkirk fans, but Thistle chairman Jim Oliver seemed to have a quiet word of friendship for Lambie. Either that or he was directing him to the away dug-out. The visitors will no doubt be happier with their point in what was a fraught match that only came to life in the second half.

Like last week with Falkirk and Motherwell, this game would have benefited from an early strike. Certainly, if Calum Milne had found the back of the net and not the side netting in the seventh minute, this game might have been different. As it was, crosses wilted and the game cried out for an impresario to put his on the ball and find the telling pass for starved forwards.
