Mis-reported as being played at Livingston (DR/WIK) but Meadowbank confirmed via SC/MP/EYE. Livingston continued to play at Meadowbank as Almondvale (which finally opened in November 1995) awaited certification for use.

Div 3 Livingston were the better team. Thistle failed to take heed and they took a deserved lead (23). Thistle did score before that but McDonald had fouled the keeper. They laid siege on the home goal in the 2nd half with corner after corner and 2 Craig pens (Curran tripped, 68 and foul on Craig, 77) won it.

JIM LEISHMAN's dream of creating a major cup upset finally died at Meadowbank last night amid chaotic scenes at the stadium. In front of the stadium's biggest football crowd for some years - 1,280 - Leishman's Third Division side held Partick for most of the match and indeed outplayed them for some of it, but in the end succumbed to two second-half penalties expertly taken by Albert Craig.
