Defences were on top in the first half which saw lots of effort but poor finishing. Clydebank's keeper Gallacher gave a tremendous display. A hopeful shot from 25-yards was deflected past Duncan for the winner (47). A Charnley pen was saved (52) then several brilliant saves kept Thistle at bay.
