St Johnstone had the best of the early chances. Jardine blazed over (24) as Thistle increased the pressure before half-time with Charnley the maestro but the game deteriorated into a “running feud” (SM). Peebles was sent off (soft hand ball, 2nd yellow) and a penalty (foul, 70) won the game before the scorer was sent off.
