| The score flattered United. Solid defensive work with the odd counter-attack was the order of the day until the 1st goal (53). Thistle became more adventurous and after a 2nd goal (72) Mitchell reduced the lead from close in (77) but tired legs and inexperience combined to let in United (82 and 89) for a cruel margin. |
