A header put the Fifers ahead (2) and they doubled the lead just on half-time with a free-kick swerving round the wall. Dalziel set up Watson for a 20-yard strike just after half-time but despite dominating, good goalkeeping denied Thistle a leveller. A third goal (84) against the run of play dashed Thistle's hopes of a point.
