McDowall (31, when a Carson header was cleared off the line) and Cochrane (34, crashed in a poor clearance from 20 yards) made it 2-0 at h-t and Herd was set up by Gilmour for the third (60). City's late consolation came (75) after they had hit the post with a penalty (68).
