Thistle dominated the first half and but had only a Melrose goal (9) after a driving run by McAdam to show for it. Under pressure after half-time, Park broke and set up Melrose who was pulled down and McAdam converted the pen (75). Rangers scored (82) but Rough was outstanding, as was Doyle.
