Thistle attacked from the start but poor marking let in Motherwell for the opener (30) then their No 5 was sent off (35). Unbelievably, 2 fine goals made it 3-0 10 minutes after half-time. Thistle laid siege to the Motherwell goal but a 30-yard drive by O'Hara and a goal by Houston weren't enough to salvage a point. Down to 5th.
