Celtic (4th bottom!) were poor but the Thistle fans in the 19,629-crowd couldn't have cared less. The midfield was controlled by Gibson and Craig and the Celtic keeper kept the score respectable. Somner took a Whittaker pass in his stride (62) for only the 3rd home win in 27 games against Celtic.
