Caledonian listed a sub 'keeper, Thistle did not. Thistle's second is credited to Dougie Somner in the OH, and this is backed up by ET/MP/HA. The DR (no report and so by process of elimination) reckons the second was an o.g. by Corbett, but the ET re-assures that Somner's shot was on-target so that theory can be ruled out. Throwing a spanner in the works, the GH credits John Craig with Thistle's second. There is a second shout for this theory via the ET, which contradicts itself by crediting Somner in the written report and Craig in the goals summary!!! On balance, it seems like Somner is the more likely, especially with the contemporary match programme statto of the day giving him the nod.

There was a personal triumph for sub Melrose who scored a hat-trick in the last 6 minutes to double the score after Inverness had made it 3-1 (82).
