Thistle played some fine stuff but Arbroath gained in confidence the longer it stayed 0-0. McQuade was at his mesmerising best with his mazy runs and shots but it was Rae (T) who headed in (40). Rough was at fault as Arbroath scored (67) then the winner came (85) as Thistle wilted. European hangover perhaps.
