A 30-yard shot from Rae was misjudged by the keeper (17) and it looked good for Thistle for an hour but Morton equalised with a lob over Rough. Rae almost scored but the end came (75) with the defence nowhere. Smith was sent off (80). Debuts for Rough and McQuade gave some hint of the future.
