notes
  • Openers for both teams are under scrutiny here. For Airdrie's first, ET says Harvey's intervention turned Duncan's cross into the net, but the SP says Caven outjumped Harvey and Freebairn to score. SM has an alternative take, saying Caven beat Harvey and Freebairn to the jump leaving Jim Storrie to “tap it into the net.” 3 choices! DR/SC credits the Harvey og and we therefore side with the majority view. Perhaps the ball was over the line by the time Storrie got to it. Thistle's first goal was the result of a Duffy drive which the 'keeper couldn't hold but who was it who stabbed it home? The OH reckons it was Davie McParland and this is backed up by ET/SC/DR/SP. The SM reckon it was George Smith but they are isolated in this view and easily dismissed.
