A strange cross-cum-shot "swallow dived" home (2) and it just wasn't to be Thistle's day despite forcing 17 corners in the match. A second half hat-trick from their right winger (53, 66, 68) was too stressful for manager Meiklejohn who took a heart attack in the director's box and later died en route to hospital. A dark day in the club's history.
