At least one (un-noted) source credits Dunky McGill with Albion's first, but this view is widely outnumbered. SP credits McGowan with an og in 33 mins (“McGowan turned in an easy McGill effort past Ledgerwood”). SC and GH also say og, whilst ET says McGill's effort was well covered by Ledgerwood before McGowan diverted the ball into the net. We go with the McGowan o.g. per the general consensus.

Sharp shot home a Davidson free-kick (8). McParland hit the bar then Howitt made it 2-0 (27). An OG by McGowan (33) made it 2-1 at half-time but Smith restored the 2-goal lead (46) from a cut-back. Bottom club Albion's defence was bombarded but poor defending at a corner (52) then a fine header (85) earned a point to avoid 11 consecutive defeats.
