The Little Report Derby took the lead (10) but Thistle improved after h-t and Howitt levelled. Alex Wright, playing at centre-forward, scored twice (58 and 87, set up by McInnes). Thistle were “fitter, faster and with more football ideas” (ET). It was the first chance to play under floodlights for many of the players.
