Thistle flew in Wright from National Service in Germany for the game. They couldn't cope with the ice-bound pitch covered with snow. Hamilton (mid-table in Div 2) did however, enjoyed some luck and scored (24). Their keeper put up the shutters to thwart Thistle's increasingly desperate efforts to level.
