Thistle displayed “superior skill and tactics“ (AEE) and ran out easy winners. They led 5-2 at half-time and Stott helped himself to a hat-trick, McCredie scored twice then missed most of the second half through injury and MacKenzie, Sharp, Crawford and an OG made up the numbers.

Superior skill and tactics enabled Partick Thistle to finish their North tour with a 9-3 win over Deveronvale on Saturday evening. The only Banff players who compared favourably with the Firhill lads were Nimmo and Buchan. Stott, the Partick centre-forward had a hat-trick. Thistle led 5-2 at half-time. Partick played for the greater part of the second half without McCreadie, their left winger, who was injured.
