The return of Shankly after 13 weeks (cartilage operation) promised better but Airdrie were the better team and “led Thistle a merry dance” (SP) with goals 15 and 27. Their first win in 4 months. Stockdale scored via the crossbar on his debut (55) but bottom club Airdrie soaked up Thistle's pressure and won comfortably.
