There's conflict with Thistle's 3rd goal, although none of the 5 papers we've looked at offer any sort of description to go on. In the only two of those papers which carry a report, the SP says it was Willie Sharp (saying that it backed up his good performance) whilst TSP says it was Maurice Candlin getting his second of the afternoon. Whilst the SC/DR back up the Candlin brace they literally offer no commentary on the game at all. Sadly, the GH doesn't put any scorers forward. It's tough with no real account, and we think it best to stick with the OH position and stick with Willie Sharp per the SP.

Airdrie had as much of the play as Thistle but the difference was that Thistle shot on sight whereas Airdrie were shot-shy. Smith had his best game during his spell with the club and Parker was in commanding form in defence. Candlin (31), Smith (32) and Sharp (67) got the goals in an easy win.
