A poor half-back display was largely the reason why Thistle trailed after 11 minutes and 3-0 at half-time. Henderson saved a penalty so it could have been worse. Motherwell made it 4 (59) before Peat made it look better (66) but an OG by McKinnon and a late 5th gave Motherwell a deserved, but slightly flattering, win.
