A dire first half left the crowd yawning but a better second half saw Thistle take the lead through Sharp (set up thanks to a nutmeg by Peat). Thirds levelled with an equally fine goal but 2 from Newall and 1 from Morrison (sequence unknown) won the points and gave the crowd their money's worth after a long wait.
