The OH (by process of elimination) credits Willie Sharp with Thistle's second, but we've seen no contemporary evidence for that. SC (no report) says Thistle's 2nd goal was an og by Gray. DR report is almost hidden by the spine of the paper but says “the ball from M?????????? went in off Gray”. Hidden bit suggests player's name began with an “M”, not an “S”. DC says McSpadyen's shot was deflected by Gray past the keeper. GH says McSpadyen's shot was spooned up over the keeper by Gray. Looks like it's either McSpadyen or an OG, and we give the benefit of the doubt to the shooter.

Thistle played their best football of the season. Rangers took the lead seconds before half-time with a 15-yard drive but Picken scored (46). After a spell of pressure Thistle were rewarded when McSpadyen shot home - his strike deflected past the keeper by a defender (70) but a goal (88) earned Rangers a point.
