Thistle were undone by a stronger side. Neat, skilful play in midfield led Thistle to try and walk the ball into the net whereas Charlton were more direct. A mazy 30-yard run and shot by McKennan (20) equalised Charlton's opener but Thistle were well beaten in the end by the team 6th in the 1st Div.
