Two down in 3 minutes, there was never any doubt about the result. Thistle defended stoutly after the poor start and kept out Rangers until 20 minutes into the second half. Wallace scored 2 minutes later but it was only a consolation although brilliant goalkeeping denied McKennan and McSpadyen late on.
