Leg-weary from a midweek replay, Arbroath soon faded and posed little threat. Wallace (10) and McKennan (12), Gray (49) and McSpadyen (57) put Thistle streets ahead then Calderwood's pen was punched clear by the keeper. Arbroath enjoyed no luck but scored (90). Thistle's better forwards made the difference.
