Thistle had a bit more to offer but it was a tough cup tie played in snow and strong wind. It took an OG when a defender, under pressure, mishit an intended corner to give Thistle the lead (58). Ayr had most of the play with Thistle on the back foot until Gray knocked in a McSpadyen cross (84) on the break with virtually the whole Ayr team up the other end for a corner.
