Thistle started with “a superior air“ (DR) but soon found goals hard to come by. Elliot hit the post with pen but Wyllie headed in a Ballantyne cross just after half-time. A poor pass-back by Calderwood let the Select team in to equalise (75). Thistle survived some frantic pressure then Ballantyne and Wyllie scored late on.
