McLennan tapped in a loose ball (5) but after they had hit the post, Aberdeen deservedly equalised (17). Thistle (virtually unchanged since the previous season) broke away and Ness knocked in a hard low cross (44). There were close things at both ends in a goalless second half. A fortunate win.
