The first Scottish team to play in Cornwall, Thistle made an excellent impression on the 5,000 crowd. Streets ahead in all departments they allowed the select team to play and prevented it becoming one-sided. Simpson (2) and Ballantyne made it 3-0 at half-time then Simpson and Elliott scored within a minute towards the end.
