All Thistle's forwards wasted chances in the first half and East Fife were lucky it was 0-0 at half-time. They were more in the game after the break but Torbet scored (63). A replay loomed large when the Fifers equalised (85) but under severe pressure a defender handled and Torbet scored with the pen (89).
