A surprisingly good game considering the conditions. Gibson (11) and Ballantyne scored to give Thistle a half-time lead. Cowdenbeath reduced the deficit but couldn't get an equaliser. Thistle's superiority at inside forward was the difference between the teams. It was also an exhibition of excellent defending.
