In brilliant sunshine, under-strength Thistle found Rovers too good. They were shaky at the back and wasteful up front. Rovers took the lead from 30 yards (2) but Ness set up Kinloch's raking drive (6). It was 3-1 at half-time and 4-1 then Rovers missed a penalty. Gibson scored but Rovers deserved the win but it was poor fare.
