This midweek fundraiser was played at the home of Cambuslang Rangers, for the benefit of the local unemployed and was very well supported by the local community who were entertained by some big names, not least of which was the 41-year-old Jimmy McMenemy, a hero to both clubs, making his last appearance for Thistle. The only sour note was Celtic's left-back - Jimmy McStay - fracturing his nose.
